The news was expected but not so soon: the powerful pay-TV Robert Murdoch will be in the Italian digital terrestrial television from next December with a new channel Sky . Officially, the TV will be launched by News Corporation subsidiary Station Europe, given that Sky can not switch to DTT before 2011. According to statements made by Gary Davey, Chief Operating Officer of News Corporation Stations Europe, and now General Manager of the new channel, Sky will enrich the offer available on digital terrestrial television in Italy, bringing more competition in a sector currently dominated by Mediaset and RAI. In view of the fact that Heaven comes into Italian homes while the transition to DTT is progressing rapidly, and that the channel realize synergies with existing investments by Sky Italy, we believe that soon Sky will prove a more successful investment for News Corporation in Italy, based on a realistic and profitable business plan in terms of costs. We are certain also that Sky will be received very positively by the public television that by advertisers, who are always looking for more choice and new opportunities to communicate with their customers. We hope not just switch off will be completed throughout Italy, to reach heaven one share close to that of the two main air channels operating on DTT, or Boing Rai and 4. Un nuovo decennio

Il tempo scorre inesorabilmente verso il nulla. Ce ne rendiamo conto man mano che cresciamo, che i giorni son più corti, e che gli anni sono troppo rapidi.
Sembra ieri che aspettavamo il 2000 ed oggi inizia una nuova decade, gli anni '10.
Spesso ci dimentichiamo che anche il 2000 ha i suoi "anni". Parliamo spesso di anni '60, '70, '80 e '90. Da oggi possiamo parlare degli anni scorsi come una decade a sè stante, che ha dato quel che ha dato, nel bene e nel male. Della moda, della musica, dei cambiamenti culturali che ha portato ne parleremo fra qualche anno, quando ce ne saremo liberati.
Non riesco veramente a tirare le somme di questi ultimi 10 anni, perchè la vita mi ha dato cose belle e cose brutte, come sempre accade. Probabilmente per mia malinconia personale rimarrò sempre legato agli '80, mentre dei '90 ricordo più che altro le svolte e i cambiamenti che mi ha portato.
In questo mondo del 2010, che sembrava dover essere super-futurista e tecnologico, viviamo pieni di paure e di incertezze, viviamo nel controllo globale sempre più crescente e in nuove malattie, viviamo ricordando la vita dei nostri nonni come qualcosa di migliore, perchè i valori umani erano più alti e la semplicità dava più serenità. Oggi nel 2010 siamo più intelligenti, più furbi e più uguali tra di noi in tutto il mondo. Ma è una forma di sopravvivenza a ciò che ci circonda, perchè ormai ci fidiamo solo di noi stessi e forse nemmeno quello. E forse siamo più soli anche se costantemente collegati online.
Mi chiedo cosa ci porteranno questi prossimi 10 anni. Non abbiamo il potere di decidere se la vita sarà giusta o ingiusta. Forse vivremo sempre più chiusi e la tecnologia ci renderà schiavi, forse diventeremo una generazione più istruita e innovativa.
Mi auguro che il 2010 sia un anno di importanza vitale per me, come lo è stato il 1980 quando sono nato, il 1990 quando ho iniziato la scuola media e ho vissuto esperienze uniche, come il 2000 che mi ha visto a fianco della donna che ora è mia moglie.
Il tempo scorre, l'importante è non saper contare.
